NotesThe Downie Optimist Midget A Aces had a busy few days, resulting in a tie and two hard fought losses. On Thursday night, the ladies travelled to Teeswater where they faced the Saugeen Lightning. After the long drive, the Aces fell short, losing 2-1. Ally Muir scored the only Aces goal late in the game, but it wasn't enough to come back.
On Saturday the Aces travelled to Brampton where they met the Brampton Canadetts for the first time in league play. Abby Gilchrist put Stratford on the board in the first period, however Bramptom followed up in the second to tie the game. With only 6 seconds left in the game, the Aces suffered a defensive zone break down and Branptom scored to win the game.
The re-match with Brampton happened on Sunday at home. Brampton took an early lead scoring 2 goals in the first period, but the Aces came back in the third with two un-answered goals of their own, resulting in a 2-2 tie. Marissa Van De Ploeg and Nicole Cosgrove scored for the Aces.
