3 pts out of 4 ain't bad!
This weekend the Dunny's PeeWee A team travelled to Bluewater on Saturday and welcomed Sarnia to Aces Day on Sunday.

Our Saturday game against Bluewater would see two teams in our division, that have had a lot of ties so far this season, trying to get some more wins.  The girls started out the game by dominating the play and found themselves up by 1 goal after Anna Tiganni stuffed one in, assisted by her line-mates Maddog and Feore.
They started the second out well by going up 2-0 when Avery(Ave) Nickel out raced the opposition to a loose puck in front of the net and powered it in under the goalie.  However, the scored would be 2-1 as Bluewater found the net before the end of the 2nd period.
On a unfortunate play near the beginning of the 3rd Bluewater tied it up at 2s for each team.  Still clearly outplaying the opposition, Clara CJ Schuster made her way into the opposition's end and let loose her cannon to put the Aces up 3-2.  Knowing we deserved the win with our play, we learned that deserving it doesn't mean you get it.  Yes, Bluewater would also find the net again before the end of the third, and the game ended in a 3-3 tie.
Add another one to each team's list!

Sunday the girls were ready to get that win they deserved on Saturday.  However, Sarnia is not the same team as Bluewater and during the first 5 minutes we found out.  They are bigger, stronger and more aggressive, so the girls had to adjust their play. Once they did the play turned out to be pretty even, but it would be the Aces who would strike first.  After blocking a defence shot from Sarnia, Feore found herself with a break-away that lead to the first goal of the day.  Sadly Sarnia would also find the net and the first ended tied 1-1.
The 2nd period was just a good period to watch, and even though both teams had their chances the score remained 1-1 after the 2nd period.
Not long into the third period the Aces would grab the lead as Eve (Evie) Greig picked up a loose puck in the neutral zone made her first great move to get past a Sarnia D, then her second great move as she beat the goalie with a deke to her back hand and put the puck in the net. The play was again back and forth for a while, but the Defence; KD, Jack, Bacher, CJ, Neave and Ash along with Chief in net kept the puck out.  With about 3 minutes left in the game Feore would proved what the coaches are always telling the girls "shoot the puck and hit the net" when she put a shot in the 5 hole from just outside the blue line. Duke would add an empty net goal for the Aces, as Evie's goal proved to be the game winner, and the Aces would swat the Stings 4-1.

Awesome game girls, let's keep the momentum heading into the Aces Tourney this weekend!
