The Taylor Fluid Systems Atom B Aces visited the Waterloo
Ravens tonight in their fourth exhibition game of season. The girls walked into
the ravens roost with a slightly short bench and walked out again with a solid
4-2 win.
Tonight’s game was all about the passing, rebounds and digging deep as the girls showed us what they work hard on each week at practice. The first goal was a combination effort and was scored by Abby Iacobellis on a rebound originally shot by Katelynn McMahon. The second goal approx. 1 minute later was another combination scored by Katie Helson on an original shot by Stephanie Tsaltas.
The crowd could see by the middle of the third period that the short bench was starting to wear these girls down. It did not, however, stop them. The Waterloo Ravens were pressing hard and had the score tied 2-2 with a couple of back to back pushes into the Aces end. Stephanie Tsaltas was able to pull the puck out and carry it down the ice and make a great pass to Ella Taylor. Ella’s shot on net was stopped but Lila Mortimer was there to pick up the rebound and sink the go ahead goal. The final game winning goal was and empty netter, scored with only 21 seconds left by Paige Campbell.
Honorable mention for tonight’s game goes to Devon Taylor for her leadership on the ice.
Congratulations to these girls tonight on a hard fought win.
The Taylor Fluid Systems Atom B Aces play two games on Sunday Sept. 24th. One away in the morning and one at home in the afternoon.
