Atom A Girls Come Up Short In Aces Tournament
The Sommers Generator Systems Atom Aces played five games of great hockey with their hearts on their sleeves but got stung by the Burlington Baracudas in a thrilling semi-final.

The Aces opened the tournament in fine form lacerating the South Huron Sabres 10-0. The Sabres clearly were not ready for the stacked hand of the Aces and the girls put on quite an offensive-defensive display.
Game two was Friday afternoon and Stratford faced an unfamiliar foe, the Burlington Baracudas. Burlington got a quick two goal lead and didn't look back downing the Aces 4-1. Saturday the Aces played an early 7 am game against the Kitchener Lady Rangers. It was a hard fought game with action at both ends of the ice but in the end, Stratford Aces brought the Rangers to justice edging them 3-1. Saturday afternoon the Aces treated their fans to a thrilling game against the Huron Heat. The Aces were dealing up plenty of offensive attacks and the Heat had some sizzling plays of their own but game four would end in a 1-1 draw leading both teams into the semi-finals on Sunday. Sunday's semi-final action would see the Aces once again take on the Burlington Baracudas.  An exceptionally fast-paced game the Aces were showing signs of brilliance controlling the play and out shooting Burlington in all three periods but the Baracudas somehow managed to weather the storm and take the game into overtime tied at 1. Again the Aces were dominant throughout the overtime but were unable to solve the Burlington goaltending and OT ended scoreless. The Baracudas had lady luck on their side in the shootout and stung the Aces 3-1 moving them into the finals.

Sommers Generator Systems Atom A Aces played great hockey all weekend long wearing their hearts on their sleeves and leaving every last ounce of energy on the ice. We are all so proud of these girls for all of their hard work and we are looking forward to the times to come when "the hockey gods" turn the tables into the Aces much deserving favour.
