Aces Battle Guelph Jr Gryphons
The Sommers Generator Systems Atom Aces had a road trip to battle the Guelph Jr Gryphons.
The Aces took to the ice in usual fashion dominating the majority of the first period.
Strong forechecking by Kenleigh Soper, Victoria Campbell and Aveleen Flood had Guelph wrapped up tight in their own end.
The Jr Gryphons opened up the scoring early in the second with a blistering shot into the top corner.
Excellent netminding from Ella Gracey kept the score 1-0 into the third period when Tessa Burdette made a saucer in the neutral zone to Skylar Fadelle as she destroyed Guelph's defense down low to set up McKenzie Parsons in front of the net who made no mistake as she buried her first of the season to tie things up.
The Aces defensive pairing of Hannah Mogk and Charlie Gethke had held off strong attacks making the Guelph wingers pay in the corners keeping the game tied up to the final buzzer.
The girls had a strong showing and will be carring a lot of momentum into the weekend for a home and away series against the London Devilettes.
