Aces Have Winning Weekend
On Saturday the Stratford Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces had Grand River in town to seek revenge for a season opening loss in Fergus. The game started very even with each team scoring only once in the first period. Once the Aces found some momentum in the second, the floodgates opened. Emersyn Miller helped earn the victory scoring with assists coming from Krista McMahon and Keira Blain. Linley Porter and Chloe Schultz also played very strong offensive games having many opportunities to score. Defensive play by Emma Van Nes held the Mustangs scoreless in the third.
On Sunday, the Aces were back on the road for a game in Woolwich. With both teams scoreless after the first two periods, it was just a matter of time before somebody found an opening. Lucky for the Stratford team it was Emersyn Miller who found success scoring a hat trick with assists coming from Niamh Appel and Jayda Houben. Chloe Rison provided many heroic saves in the shut out with lots of help from Eve Binns, Claire Donnelly and Teresa Schuster. Keira Blain had many chances to really open up the scoreboard in the third period but was shut down by a tough Wild goaltender.
