Novice Aces Tie and Lose on the Road
“Win or lose make the other team remember the day hey played you.”
The Stratford Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces had two away games over the weekend. On Saturday the Aces travelled to Kitchener and came away with a tie. On Sunday the Aces played the Huron Heat in Clinton, and lost a close game. The teams we played this past weekend will remember us, as the Aces played extremely well.

On Saturday the girls knew they would have a tough game against Kitchener. During the first period both teams were held scoreless. Then half way through the second Emma Van Nes scored for the Aces to take the lead. Shortly after Kitchener came back and tied it up. In the third period Kitchener continued their strong play and scored to take the lead. The Aces came right back though, with a goal from Emersyn Miller with the assist from Eve Binns. The whole game was back and forth and ended in a 2-2 tie. Ace of the Game went to Emma Van Nes and Defensive Ace of the Game went to Claire Donnelly.

On Sunday the Aces faced the first place Huron Heat and we came out flying. Late in the first period Miller scored with an assist from Chloe Schultz, putting the Aces up 1-0. In the second period the Aces got a penalty, putting the Heat on the power play. The Aces played strong and Emma Van Nes carried the puck down and scored a shorthanded goal, putting us up 2-0. In the third period the Heat came out strong, scoring 3 unanswered goals. We gave their undefeated streak a scare and proved that we are not a team that should be over looked. Ace of the Game went to Linley Porter and Defensive Ace of the Game went to Krista McMahon.
