Novice Aces have Busy Weekend
The Stratford Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces had a busy weekend, with three games. The Aces went to Cambridge on Friday night, then played Waterloo at home on Saturday and went to Blyth to play Huron Heat on Sunday.

On Friday night the girls travelled to Cambridge and played a very competitive game. The ice was slow and caused the puck to slow down quickly, Cambridge used that to their advantage and scored early in the first. At the beginning of the second period the Aces came out strong, scoring 45 seconds into the period. Emersyn Miller scored the goal. The Aces kept their strong play going in the third period, again coming out and scoring in 30 seconds. Miller had the goal with an assist from Keira Blain. Shortly after, Cambridge came back with the equalizer and the game ended in a 2-2 tie. Ace of the Game went to Krista McMahon and Defensive Ace of the Game went to Keira Blain.

On Saturday the Aces had a home game against Waterloo. Waterloo came out strong, scoring three goals in the first period, but the Aces didn’t quite. During the second period the Aces held off Waterloo and scored with three minutes left in the period. Miller scored with the assist coming from Emma Van Nes. The girls continued their strong play in the third period, with Miller scoring 2 more goals to tie the game and complete the hat trick. Unfortunately, Waterloo answered with a late winning goal. Ace of the Game went to Niamh Appel and Defensive Aces of the Game went to Jayda Houben.

On the final game of the weekend the Aces travelled to Blyth to take on the first place Huron Heat. The Aces came to play! They all passed well and skated hard, the Heat knew it would be a tough game. Late in the first period the Heat scored to go up 1-0. Despite our best efforts we were not able to tie the game up. The girls played one of their best games this season! Ace of the game went to Teresa Schuster and Defensive Ace of the Game went to Chloe Schultz.
