Aces Have Winning Weekend
On Saturday the Stratford Perth Auto
Dismantlers Novice B Aces had Grand River in town to seek revenge for a season
opening loss in Fergus. The game started very even with each team scoring only
once in the first period. Once the Aces found some momentum in the second
period the floodgates opened. Emersyn Miller helped earn the victory scoring
with assists coming from Krista McMahon and Keira Blain. Linley Porter also
played a very strong offensive game having many opportunities to score.
Defensive play by Emma Van Nes held the Mustangs scoreless in the third. Ace of
the Game was awarded to Chloe Schultz and Defensive Ace was given to Emersyn
Miller.
On Sunday, the Aces were back on the road for a game in Woolwich. With both teams scoreless after the first two periods it was just a matter of time before somebody found an opening. Lucky for the Stratford team it was Emersyn Miller who found success scoring a hat trick with assists coming from Niamh Appel and Jayda Houben. Chloe Rison provided many heroic saves in the shut out with lots of help from Claire Donnelly and Teresa Schuster in their end. Ace of the game went to Keira Blain and Defensive Ace was given to Eve Binns.
