On Sunday November 6 the Aces opened their day with an early morning Semi-Final game vs Peterborough looking to secure a spot in the championship game. The Aces skated to a 3-1 win behind strong performances from Madi Cardno who potted two goals and Paige Willie in net.
Cardno opened the scoring in the first converting a nice passing play from Raelyn Pennigton and Kennedy McGregor going top shelf blocker side making it 1-0. Cardno added her second of the game on a strong rush up the middle driving the net and dragging an Ice Kat defender with her the whole way into the net for a pretty goal and a two goal lead.
The Ice Kats managed to cut the lead in half however the Aces were able to restore the two goal lead and a tidy 3-1 win. Once again the Aces defence of Rayne Bowden, Kiera Dietz, Caleigh Webb, Jesse Dietrich, Olivia Brock and Reese Ostryznick played fantastic games in front of Willie in net.
A well deserved chance at the gold medal waited after this team effort.
