Aces beat Huron Heat in last game of season
In the last game of the season the Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces upset the 1st place ranked Huron Heat at home 2-1.

The Heat started the scoring halfway through the 1st with a referee decision goal. This didn’t stop the girls who battled hard, and continued to fight along the boards.

Tessa Burdett put the Aces on the board with a breakaway goal right before the buzzer in the first.

The Aces made the coaches proud today with a lot of practice originating passing plays up the middle. On one such play, Paige Taylor received a pass and carried it into the offensive end, to shoot towards the net.  Abby Iacobellis picked up the rebound and passed to Tessa Burdett who found the right spot to score.

The third period remained scoreless thanks to great defensive efforts by Sloan Cameron, Emma Van Nes and Bronwyn Hawkins.

Congratulations to Anne Nickel for earning the Ace of the Game and Emma Van Nes for earning Defensive Ace of the game.

As the girls left the dressing room today they could be heard saying to each other. “Great game girls, we Ace’d them! “

The Aces start their playoff and play down runs in February. Keep an eye out for updated schedules as they become available.
