Stratford Tournament
The Stratford Cooper Standard Bantam BB Aces took part this weekend in the A division of the Annual Aces Tournament. The Aces opened up vs Hamilton and battled them to a 2-2 tie. Goals scored by Emmah Douglas and Chloe Loerzel with assists to Aysha Machan, Kaeley Dunseith and Clara Sangster. In the Second game the Aces took on Wilmot losing 4-1 with the lone goal going to Sophie Bogdon.
On Saturday the Aces play Bluewater and Brampton. The Aces were shutout by Bluewater 2-0 but found their scoring touch vs Brampton winning 5-2. Scoring for the Aces was Bogdon, Sangster, Aalia Gade, Emma Gansevles and Keeley Park. Assists went to Marin Delaney, Rachel Mills, Marissa Van der Ploeg, Jillian Pitts and Madi McKinley. This win set the Aces in 4th place at the end of pool play setting up a date with the Stratford Bantam A team in the Semi finals.
On Sunday a unique game took place having Stratford vs Stratford in a red vs white semi final. In a good battle the Bantam A Aces took the game beating the Bantam BB Aces 3-1. Gansevles scored with assist by Delaney. Shelby Foster & Kayley Thompson battled hard in the net for the Aces throughout the weekend. Neely Clarke played important support role sidelined by injury. A great weekend for the group playing a level above their category.
