The Egg Farmers of Ontario Atom A Aces played Sunday against the West Huron Wave loosing a very close game 1-0. The girls were coming off a fantastic 3-0 win on Aces day against the Cambridge Roadrunners. That game found scoring by Jacklyn Hettinga, Madison Cardno and Anna Tigani with assists from Olivia Harding (2) and Clara Schuster. Mia Morris played very well turning away Cambridge's onslaught of shots in the shutout.
Unfortunately, the aces couldn't carry that momentum into the game versus the Wave. The line of Harding and Brooklyn Chadwick generated most of the Aces offensive opportunities but couldn't sneak one past the opposition. The game was a chess match with both teams battling for positions and puck possession throughout. The Wave ended up finding advantage at the end of the game pushing one past Keira Akey with 1:19 left in the third period. Ella Van Bakel and Meg Feore also played solid games in the loss.
