Novice C Aces Provincial Tournament Results
The Perth Auto Dismantlers Aces were away this past weekend participating in the Ontario Provincials. They played strong and hard, advancing through pool play and making it to the quarter finals.

Friday started bright and early with an 8 AM start and saw the Aces play their regular season rivals, the South Huron Sabers.  The Sabers started the game with two first period goals. The Aces, Paige Campbell, scored in the second on a pass from Stephanie Tsaltas. South Huron added another in the third to finish the game 3-1 for the Sabers.  Congratulations to Paige Campbell for earning the Coaches First Star award.

Game two of the pool play on Friday was against the North Halton Twisters. Fresh off their loss at 8am, the girls hit the ice with something to prove.  Five goals later the Aces walked away with a 5-1 win.  First period goals were scored by Anne Nickel, Aveleen Flood and Olivia Rau assisted by Aveleen and Olivia. Congratulations to Aveleen Flood, the Coaches First Star award winner for this game.

Saturday morning the girls were able to sleep in and come on strong in game three against Saugeen Shores Storm. All the girls worked hard to ensure their position into the quarter finals was secured. The Perth Auto Dismantlers Aces won this, the final pool play game, by a score of 13-0. First period goals were scored by Aveleen Flood, Olivia Rau, and Stephanie Tsaltas, assisted by Cassie Richardson, Julia McCann, Olivia Rau and Tessa Burdett. Period two goals were scored by Aveleen, Hannah Mogk and Tessa Burdett, assisted by Hannah, Tessa, and Aveleen. The final period added another 4 goals to the board with shots scored by Olivia, Katie Antonio, and Tessa Burdett. These were assisted by Aveleen Flood and Paige Campbell. Congratulations to Kenleigh Soper for earning the Coaches First Star Award in game three.

The final game for the Novice C Aces in 2015/2016 season was played in the Provincial Quarter Finals against the Lucan Irish. The action was fast, the game rough and close. The end of period 1 and 2 saw equal goals on the board for each team. The Irish started off the scoring two minutes into the first, however a goal by Hannah Mogk from Lila Mortimer each period tied it up. Period two once again started with a goal from the Irish and a return goal for the Aces by Aveleen Flood, assisted by Kenleigh Soper and Olivia Rau. Period three was the same with a goal by the Irish followed by a loan shot by Aveleen Flood.  Unfortunately, the Irish were able to score two goals, unanswered by the Aces in the final three minutes of play.  Resulting in a 5-3 loss for the Aces.

Congratulations to all the Perth Auto Dismantler Novice C Aces. It has been a fantastic year, one I know you will always remember and cherish. Thank you for allowing me to share in your goals, assists, triumphs and defeats. Never forget to love the game.
