Bantam A Aces – Oakville Harvest Classic Tournament
The Stratford Bantam A Aces sponsored by Accumetal recently competed in the Oakville Hornets Harvest Classic tournament and went 1-1-2.

Stratford started the tournament on the right foot with a 2-0 win over St.Catherines Choas. Setting the tone of the game early in the first period,  Anna Mohr netted the puck with helpers going to Madeline Corrie and Leah Matthews. Nicole Crowley scored early in the third to provide the insurance goal assisted by Megan Rauser. Megan Jesse recorded the shutout. The second game of Friday was against a strong Brampton Canadettes team. Being down  by 2 goals midway through the second period, the Aces started to battle harder for the puck and it paid off as Laura Skinner netted her first of the game with Kaitlyn Mathieson assisting. Going into the third and still down by one the Aces continued their hard work and again Skinner was able to get the equalizer. Creasyn Jordan played superb in net to help earn the tie. Early Saturday morning the Aces were facing the Mississauga Chiefs and found themselves down by 1 goal early into the game. After the Chiefs made it 2-0 midway through the second, the sleepiness started to go away and the Aces started to battle back. Laura Chapman was able to find the back of the net before the second ended, with Matthews drawing  the assist. There was strong goaltending at both ends of the ice through the third and the score remained at 2-1. With only 3 points in their pool Stratford was out of the medal rounds as Brampton and Mississauga ended up with 4 points each. A fourth game was played against Scarborough Sharks and ended up in a 1-1- tie. Scoring for Stratford was Skinner assisted by Mathews and Erin Kuepfer . Kudos to Halle Blowes, Tessa Deighton Paige Bryn, Carly Plain, Abby Debus and the rest of the team mentioned above for hard work and never quit attitude.
