Bantam A's Busy Week
The Stratford Aces, Accumetal, Bantam A’s were busy over this past week playing a number of Lower Lake league games.
This past Sunday the Aces were in London to take on the Devilette 98 squad battling to a 3 – 2 win. Defenseman Alicia Hartung scored the winning goal with a shot from the point off of a feed from Liv Charette during a third period power play. Kaitlyn Mathieson, and Anna Mohr were the other goal scorers with two assists coming from Grace Fountain, Alicia Young and Erin Kuepfer with one apiece. Earlier in the week Stratford came close to knocking off first place Guelph Thunder but had to settle for a 2 –2 draw. The Aces let the Thunder back into the match during third period action despite having a two goal edge. Mathieson and Faith Flanagan were the goal scorers with Clodagh Weber earning two assists. Rylee Kaufman played strong in net for the Aces. Stratford saw action in London against the Devilette 99 team losing a tough one 1 – nil. Aliya McNeil was solid in net stopping a strong London offense on many occasions. The Aces entertained the Irish from Lucan at home last weekend defeating them 3 – 2. Jocelyn Ballantyne, Fountain and Carly Wouters all scored for Stratford with assists coming off of the sticks of Young, Mohr and Leah Matthews.
