Peewee C WIN Silver at BAD tournament
The Vancea Financial Pee wee C Aces took silver in this weekend’s BAD tournament held in the Aylmer area. 



                 

The first game Friday afternoon saw the Aces face the Kensington Valley Ravens. The game was quiet until half way through the 2nd period when Mady Webley-Bruce fired one in the net unassisted to get the Aces on the scoreboard. Early in the 3rd period Madi McKinley assisted by Kate Schneider helped us take a 2-0 lead. Half way through the 3rd period, the Aces struck again when Joselyn Burdett from McKinley gave us another point. Only two minutes later, Jenna Akroyd-Snider scored unassisted. The Aces took a good lead late in the 3rd, when Akroyd-Snider got her second of the game from Tarha Keen and Victoria Hahn. Rebekkah Phibbs was MVP of the game. The Aces started the tournament with a solid 5-0 win!

 Later Friday, the Aces faced the home team- BAD Blazers. Late in the 1st period, Akroyd-Snider assisted by Jessica Blowes would start the scoring. In the 2nd period, Victoria Hahn assisted by Akroyd-Snider and Blowes would score to give the Aces a 2-0 lead. Blowes from McKinley and Akroyd-Snider, scored half way through the 3rd to give the team a 3-0 win and a spot in the championship game on Sunday. Akroyd-Snider was MVP of the game Megan Arnold would earn her 14th shutout this season- very impressive work!
Sunday afternoon the Aces faced the strong Lambeth Lancers in the championship game. The Aces started slow and the fast moving Lancers managed to get 3 goals within the first 6 minutes of the game. The Aces fought back with over 20 shots on the net. Goalie Arnold, fought off many shots on the Aces net. The Lancers would score their 4th goal mid way through the 3rd period, however late in the 3rd Hahn would slip one in the net assisted by Blowes and Akroyd-Snider. The final score would be 4-1 for the Lancers. Rachel Nash was MVP of the game. It was a good team effort and they came home with the silver medals! 

                   Thanks to coaches, Brian Blowes, Bob Nash and Jason Pitts and trainer for the tournament, Sheryl McFadden, for helping keep the team spirit alive!
