Novice B Silver Medalists!!!!
The Stratford Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces competed this past weekend in the Guelph Tournament.  The girls finished the tournament as very proud silver medalists.  Although they finished in second with a 5-3 loss against the Ancaster Avalanche, they played their hearts out and deserved a Gold for effort and determination.

After losing to Ancaster 8-0 in round robin play, the girls knew they had to play their best game yet.  The Aces went down 3-0 in the first period of the championship game.  They fought back hard with excellent backchecking by Lauren Dekok and strong defense by Anika Akroyd-Snider,  Bella Rogers and Adrianna Danen.  Danielle Bast opened up the scoring early in the second period with assists by Reece Reinecker and Lydia Puetz.  Less than a minute later Hailey Goforth scored the second Aces goal with a one timer that was passed  out from the corner by Sydnie Miller.  With the score now 3-2, the Avalanche were on their heels and the Aces were stronger than ever.  The offensive line of Lauren Taylor, Emma Ivey and Mia Keupfer continued to put pressure on the Avalanche while Addison Moir and Courntey Lott stayed strong on the defensive side.  In the third period the Aces Sydnie Miller scored the third goal with the assist by Hailey Goforth, but it just wasnt enough to hold off the Avalanche.  Avery Wildgust played an amazing game in net for the Aces.   The Aces opened up round robin play on Friday with a 3-2 win against the Guelph Thunder.  Sydnie Miller scored twice and Hailey Goforth added a single for the win.  The Aces second game on Friday was against the Avalanche where they lost 8-0.  On Saturday afternoon the Aces played the BAD Blazers.  This game was a must win situation for the Aces to make it to Sundays final.  The game remained scoreless and was very intense until the last minute of third period when Sydnie Miller scored the go ahead goal with 1:17 left in the game.  Her goal was assisted by Hailey Goforth and Danielle Bast.  The Blazers pulled their goalie for the last minute of the game to try and tie it up, but the Aces stayed strong and held them off for the win and the oppourtunity to participate in the finals
