Peewee A Aces Earn Silver
The Dunny’s Source for Sports Peewee A Aces came away with silver medals, at the Etobicoke Dolphins “”Pink the Rink” 2nd Annual Tournament this past weekend. 

The Dunny’s Source for Sports Peewee A Aces came away with silver medals, at the Etobicoke Dolphins “”Pink the Rink” 2nd Annual Tournament this past weekend.The Aces played their first game of the tournament on Friday to Etobicoke Dolphins Ardell at the Ricoh Center and came away with a 2-1 win. After falling behind in the first period Jocelyn Ballantyne scored in the second to tie the game assists going to Megan Rauser and Laura Chapman. Laura Chapman scored the game winner in the third unassisted. Saturday the Aces notched another win against Etobicoke Dolphins Novak winning 2-0. Scoring for Stratford was Ballantyne from Carly Wouters and Megan Rauser provided the insurance marker unassisted. Tenacious fore checking by Alexa Horne and strong defensive plays by Eden Lalonde and Taylor Powell helped Creasyn Jordan in earning the shutout. Saturday afternoon the Aces played Ancaster Avalanche and came away with a 2-2 tie. It was a back and forth game with numerous chances at both end of the rink. Rylee Kaufman was solid in front of the pipes. Erin Kuepfer and Paula Wouters provided the goals with Kaitlyn Mathieson and Courtney Simpson getting the assists. A strong defensive game was played by Tessa Deighton and Leah Mathews. Sunday morning the aces faced league rivals Cambridge Roadrunners. It was a must win game for both teams to advance to the finals and Stratford came away with a 1-0 win. It was a game that had chances at both ends of the rink but Kelsey Dixon finished the Roadrunners off late in the third period with the aid of Kuepfer and Mathieson. Creasyn Jordan earned her second shutout of the weekend. Sunday afternoon the Aces played Ancaster for the gold medal game. It was Ancasters only game of the day and Stratford could not keep up with the Avalanche and lost 5-2. Scoring for Stratford was Dixon from Mathieson and Kuepfer in the first and in the third period Kuepfer from Anna Mohr and Mathieson.
