What do you get when you take the Stratford Aces Peewee C girls
hockey team and 1,200 napkins? A crown
folding party of course!
The girls continued their quest to offer their hands and time as part of the Chevy Good Deeds Cup by volunteering their time on Friday, December 14th, 2018 to help out with the decorating for the 30th annual “To Stratford With Love” community banquet. The girls were given 1,200 napkins and instruction on how to fold them into a paper crown, the finished product to be proudly displayed on the plates of the banquet attendees.
By the end of the 2-hour napkin session, the girls, their parents and siblings all had a solid grasp of the steps involved to fold napkins into pieces of art. All of the people who volunteered for this event did their own small parts in making the evening of Saturday, December 15th a resounding success.
The girls really enjoyed themselves, singing Christmas carols and sharing stories as they worked independently or as part of a crown folding production line. As it would turn out, many Christmas tables this holiday season will be decorated with napkin crowns, as the girls share their new talents at family holiday meals.
