Atom C - Playoffs Begin

This past weekend the Stratford Nutrition House Atom C Aces began their round robin playoffs with three games in three days. The aces traveled to Sarnia on Saturday leaving with a 1-1 tie. Scoring was Jillian Pitts with assists to McKenzie Dietrich & Neely Clarke.
Sunday the aces hosted the B.A.D. girls which resulted in a second 1-1 tie on the weekend. Natalie Dinsmore scored for Stratford with assists going to Rebekkah Phibbs & Victoria Hahn.

Midget AA - MAA Aces Prolong Series With Saugeen

After being on the short end for the first 2 games in the series, the Downie Optimist MAA Aces came up with a gritty effort Tuesday vs. the Saugeen Maitland Lightning for a 1-1 tie in OWHA Playdowns. After a scoreless first, Rachel Koot kept the play onside with a pass to Shannon Jewitt who unloaded a shot right along the ice that Jess Barton tipped to take a 1-0 lead. That lead would hold till the Lightning tied it up on a 5 on 3 with 1:47 left in the game. Holly Deighton made 38 saves in a flawless effort in goal for the Aces. The game was a costly one as Erica Mack was hit from behind into the boards with 5 seconds remaining and had to leave the game with a rib injury. The Lightning lead the series 5 points to 1. The series continues Sunday at 4:00PM at RBC.

Peewee B - Tie and Loss in Playdowns

In the second game of playdowns Saturday, the Vancea Financial Peewee B team came away with yet another tie of 0-0 against Blythe. Both teams were unsuccessful in gettting a goal past neither the Stratford or Blythe goalies. Michaela McKay and Halle Blowes worked hard defensively helping goalie Tasia Reynen who was dynamic between the pipes for Stratford stopping everything that came her way. Sunday's home game showed Blythe getting a quick goal in the first minute of play and again two minutes later making it 2-0. In the second period, Blythe again scored 2 more goals in the last three minutes of the period taking a 4-0 lead going into the third period.

Peewee A Aces Advance to Semi-Finals of Lower Lakes Play-offs

Dunny’s Source for Sports Peewee A Aces finished off the London Devilettes on Thursday night with a convincing 4-0 win at the Stratford Rotary complex to take the best 2 out of 3 series. Game 1 took place in Stratford at the Rotary complex and saw 8th place London take the play to 1st place Stratford quickly scoring two goals in the first period. Stratford got to within one on a great shot by Alexa Horne over the shoulder of the London goalie.

The WOGHL All Star game will be held on Sunday, April 22nd at Southwood Complex in Woodstock. Congratulations to the following members of the Atom C Aces for being selected to the WOGHL All Star game - Jessica Blowes, Rachel Nash & Maddison McKinley. Also congratulations to coach Jason Clarke who was selected to be an Assistant Coach! Great job Aces!

Peewee B - 0-0 Tie in First Playdown Game

The Vanceo Financial sponsored Peewee B team played their first game of playdowns against Blythe on Sunday and tied 0-0. Right down to the last few minutes of play, the peewees fought hard to score on Blythe's goalie but were unsuccessful. Megan Jesse had an excellent game in net, stopping all shots that came her way. The peewee's play Blythe this coming weekend, away Saturday, and home Sunday for an 11:00 am start at the Allman. Let's go Aces!

Atom C - Atom C Qualify for Provincials

The Stratford Nutrition House Atom C Aces qualified for the Provincials on the weekend with a series sweep of Mildmay/Teeswater. Friday night Stratford traveled to the Teeswater arena taking game one 10-0. Sophie Bogdon lead the way scoring a hattrick. Jessica Blowes & Neely Clarke each had a pair with Rachel Nash, McKenzie Dietrich and Kaeley Dunseith added singles. Jillian Pitts added two assists with Jada Kraemer and Rebekkah Phibbs one. Megan Arnold posted the shutout.
