Etobicoke - Pink the Rink
The Perth Auto Dismantlers Novice B Aces traveled to Etobicoke this past weekend for their first tournament of the year. With a guaranteed 4 games this weekend the girls were ready to show their stuff.

Game 1 at 830 am, against the Barrie Sharks did not go the way the girls or coaches would have wanted it, but the girls worked hard and skated away with a 6-0 loss.

Game 2 on Friday matched the Aces against the Aurora Panthers. This game was a nail biter with the Aces scoring first. The Panthers followed up each goal with one of their own scoring the tying goal with only 1:11 left in the third. The game ended 3-3. Goals earned in order by Paige Campbell, Tessa Burdett and Emersyn Miller with assists earned by Abby Iacobellis, Rachael Barber, and Anne Nickel.

Game 3 was another bright and early one starting at 7:30 on Saturday morning. The Perth Auto Dismantlers Aces faced the North Bay Ice Boltz. Action was tight with a scoreless first period. The Aces scored first again, in the second to which the Boltz answered 2 minutes later. The third was a tough period for our girls. The Ice Boltz game out strong and took a 3 goal lead. The Aces answered back by scoring 2 goals within 20 seconds of each other. That was all they could do as the Boltz scored another 3 goals to end the game with a 7-3 loss for Stratford. Congratulations to Tessa Burdett, Eve Binns and Abby Iacobellis for their goals this game. The latter two both scored their first goals of their careers with the Novice B Aces. Assists were earned by Paige Campbell, Emma Van Nes and Tessa Burdett.

Game 4 occurred at 5 pm on Saturday against the Wilmont Wild. This was an important game for the Aces, as the Wild are in our division and bragging rights were on the line. The first period was scoreless as both teams would not give an inch. However, for the third time this weekend the Aces started the scoring with Tessa finding the back of the net on a pass from Anne Nickel, 5 minutes later the aces took a 2 goal lead when Emersyn Miller scored on a pass from Peyton Barclay.  The third period was tough as the girls lost some steam. Marta Rintoul was still energetic enough to save some crucial Wild breakaway attempts to earn her first shut out of the season. The game ended with Aces winning 2-0.

This was a great experience for our Aces. Great job goes out to all our players, you did fantastic job! Congratulations to the following MVP players this weekend: Sloan Cameron, Tessa Burdett and Marta Rintoul.  Ace of the Game awards went to Eve Binns, Rachael Barber, Teresa Schuster, Abby Iacobellis, Bronwyn Hawkins and Lila Mortimer. Great Job Ladies!
