St Catherines Tournament
Stratford Aces Cooper Standard Bantam BB Aces traveled to St Catherines this weekend for tournament play.
The Aces opened up the tournament Friday with a 3-1 loss to Stoney Creek. Aalia Gade scored the lone Aces goal. Friday evening the Aces found the net six times on route to a 6-2 win over the Vaughan Flames. Aysha Machan lead the scoring with 2 goals. Other goals were scored by Emma Gansevles, Kaeley Dunseith, Jillian Pitts & Sophie Bogdon. Neely Clarke, Marissa Van der Ploeg, Chloe Loerzel, Emmah Douglas & Keeley Park all chipped in with assists. Saturday afternoon the Aces pulled out a win vs the Norfolk Herricanes 2-1. Goals scored by Van der Ploeg and Machan. Marin Delaney had two assists. Saturday evening goal scorers Gansevles, Clara Sangster and Rachel Mills led the Aces to beat the Mississauga Chiefs 3-0 earning a place in the semi final Sunday. Sunday the Aces ran into the undefeated New York State Hamburg Hawks who beat the Aces 6-0 ending the tournament.Kayley Thompson and Shelby Foster were both excellent all weekend sharing the duties in net keeping the Aces going. Injured Ace Madi McKinley also played an important role this weekend supporting her teammates through each & every game.
