2011-12 Peewee B - Tie and Loss in Playdowns
In the second game of playdowns Saturday, the Vancea Financial Peewee B team came away with yet another tie of 0-0 against Blythe. Both teams were unsuccessful in gettting a goal past neither the Stratford or Blythe goalies. Michaela McKay and Halle Blowes worked hard defensively helping goalie Tasia Reynen who was dynamic between the pipes for Stratford stopping everything that came her way. Sunday's home game showed Blythe getting a quick goal in the first minute of play and again two minutes later making it 2-0. In the second period, Blythe again scored 2 more goals in the last three minutes of the period taking a 4-0 lead going into the third period.
The Aces worked hard in the third offensively and defensively but were shut down and forced to take the 4-0 loss. Carly Plain, Katelyn Berg, and Meaggan Ball played well defensively helping goalies Megan Jesse and Reynen who shared net duties. Stratford, with two points, travels to Blythe next weekend for game four of the six point series. Blythe leads the series with 4 points.
